  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Korean barbecue sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, green onions, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, honey/brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Drizzle with additional Korean barbecue sauce and return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
