  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onions and minced garlic until translucent.
  2. 2. Add ground lamb or beef and diced carrots. Cook until browned, breaking up large chunks of meat.
  3. 3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  4. 4. While simmering, mash pre-cooked potatoes with butter and milk until creamy; season with salt.
  5. 5. In a baking dish, layer the meat mixture evenly, then spread mashed potatoes on top.
  6. 6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
