Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring (gel)
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and cocoa powder until well combined.
  3. Gradually add all-purpose flour to the mixture and mix until just combined.
  4. Portion out dough onto prepared baking sheets using a cookie scoop or tablespoon. Press your thumb into each mound to create an indentation.
