Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Stir in yeast and let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. 2. Make the dough: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter, eggs, and yeast mixture; stir until combined.
  3. 3. Knead the dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for approximately 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. 4. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. 5. Roll out & fill: Punch down the dough and roll into a rectangle (1/4-inch thick). Spread softened butter on top, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  6. 6. Create rolls: Roll tightly from one edge into a log shape and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  7. 7. Bake: Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise again (30 minutes). Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
