Description

Dirt Cake Casserole is a nostalgic dessert that combines creamy layers of chocolate and fluffy whipped topping, all nestled between crunchy cookie “dirt.” This indulgent treat is perfect for family gatherings, birthday parties, or just when you need a sweet escape.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
  • 8 oz unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz Cool Whip or whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Gummy worms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies in a zip-top bag using a rolling pin until coarse crumbs form.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar while mixing until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the Cool Whip until the mixture is light and airy.
  4. Layer half of the cream mixture in a large casserole dish followed by half of the crushed cookies. Repeat this layering process until all ingredients are used.
  5. If desired, decorate the top with gummy worms.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving.
