  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix chopped almonds, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Layer six sheets of phyllo dough in the baking dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. Add half of the nut mixture on top of the layered phyllo.
  5. Layer three more sheets of phyllo followed by the remaining nut mixture.
  6. Top with an additional six sheets of phyllo, brushing each with butter.
  7. Cut into triangles before baking for easier serving.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Meanwhile, prepare syrup by simmering honey, water, and sugar until dissolved.
  10. Pour hot syrup over baklava once baked; let it soak before serving.
