Description

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness. Cut circles using a round cutter.
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of cherry filling in the center of each circle.
  5. Fold over and seal edges with a fork; cut small slits on top for steam vents.
  6. Brush tops with egg wash and bake on a lined baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
