  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cups mashed Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken or beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary (or ½ tsp dried)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping onions, carrots, and herbs.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in oil until translucent. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in carrots and peas; cook for another 5 minutes until tender.
  4. Add broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  5. For the topping, boil peeled Yukon Gold potatoes until fork-tender. Mash with butter and milk until creamy.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Layer the meat mixture in a baking dish and spread mashed potatoes on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
